Amzin place…. It was a great experience. I saw a place which may can be a future for any developing country…may be 100 or more years ahead.

Landed, and it was comfortable journey to this place. Smile on the face everyone is missing.

An expensive hotel in a developed country, Front office executive was very competent and confident. What does not happen in hotel of underdeveloped countries :

They will ask you for choice of newspaper

No sign of hot and cold water ( probably its always a hot water in the taps ?)

Asking how many keys we want ( could not get reason , may be people loose keys ? )

Guest will stand behind you and not do any action to bother you or intervene in your conversation with the front office executive

A simple thing like converter ( round pin ) is not available in the hotel. They say they will check if they have not consumed all ( we create a fuss in hotels for want of these things )

Internet in hotel room is not free, they want you to sign on terms before connecting you.

Very well maintained nice place, but I feel other countries have actually exceed this place in guest relations/comfort. Here you will find more direct answers.

No bell boy to carry your luggage from Hotel door to the reception. – Do yourself.

Hotel will ask you specifically if you need any help in transferring your luggage to your room from lobby ( we get 5 star treatment right from the time we step out from cab at hotel door. )

No doorman, open the door your self.

( aren’t we creating lot of jobs[needlessly ?] in other countries ?? )

Transport related quarries can only be handled in morning ( when the concierge person arrives ) – be cool…

Restaurant closes at 9 pm ( amazing, our crowd starts stepping in at 9 ) – what people do after taking dinner …to be understood ( its my first night here ….bit dissatisfied customer )

General :

Roads are very clean and less occupied ( more space per capita?/ population effect ?? )

Buildings are maintained as it from ages, external historical outlook is maintained as it is ( unlike our countries where we are seeing hi-tech buildings – and we call it growth )

People wear what they want and walk anywhere( no one is observing )

People talk on general subjects ( baseless , time pass – with no substance )

The society is very much conservative and self centric. Helpful yet self centric. No one will look at you in market place. People wear whatever they want - no one stares (unlike us ). Individualistic approach. Very costly – people yet live lavishly and buy things. There are poor, yes there are like any other country. I could not see anyone begging. Very few homeless on roadside. No police- every moment is controlled by camera, radars.

Traffic is very cool. Cars will stop automatically for pedestrians, walkers can push a button on a pole installed near all traffic lights and vehicles will stop for them to allow them to pass. No rickshaw, no auto rickshaw………..TO BE CONTINUED
Yes, Its my 1st trip outside Asia. Today id 12th July. The time difference is such that even if I have stared my journey 4 am India time 12th July and reach 2 pm 12th July, but will have to be in plane for 20+ Hours. I was bit scared how would I sit for so many hours, but its fine. Flight is comfortable and they provide Asian Vegetarian food as well.Delighted customer !Tired sleeping for few hours, but chair cannot replace bed, hence just struggling with insomnia. Now, watching a movie called how to loose friends and a….This is about a Media Journalist who want to be in the limelight. He always think differently than the world. At his job he gives foolish suggestions to his boss in front of his colleagues and also land up in trouble. He was never recognized at his job and in social circles. Gradually he recognized this fact that to be in mainstream and in limelight one to meet what world wants. He becomes star. One fine day he get close to female star and who said to him he shall give his ring to her and if in tomorrow’s star award function she is declared as winner she will marry him. Now, the day comes and she is announced as a star. When she is proceeding towards the stage, he jumps on her and put he down on the floor and tried snatching his ring and said I will not marry you. In the mid of the movie I thought if a person understands his weakness and try improving it by amending his ways, its good…….. Its better late than never situation. At the end of the movie I realized that there are some people in the world who will remain whatever they were come what may.Leaving this blog to think more if here is a message that :“if a fool had to remain fool, why to spend time and effort on him as some day he will show his true colors………this is ought to happen as this is not in his control’.The question from Human resource Management perspective is that :“ is it correct to look at only qualification and experience of the person to hire him….or would this be right to also look at his personality, ability, potential and competencies at the time of hiring …..”How practical is it is a question mark ………….
Very briefly and simply stating this blog is gonna be a base for my book on HR Management....hence would post my experiences....
